Accounting Intern

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acquire and demonstrate a solid understanding of accounts payable and job cost functions.
- Set-up new trade partners and vendors in accounting system.
- Review supplier invoices and overhead charges for accuracy before processing for payment.
- Ensure Timely and accurate payment of project costs and maintenance of job cost management reports.
- Assist with the preparation of weekly check runs, including check printing, and matching with appropriate backup documentation.
- Compile information for internal and external auditors and work alongside Assistant Controllers as needed.
- Attend required corporate meetings, training programs, and Harkins University seminars/webinars.
- Interact and communicate professionally and ethically with internal departments, corporate staff, site teams, trade partners and vendors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
- Experience with software including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Eagerness to learn and a willingness to participate in a variety of projects.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to independently prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A team-player mindset.
- Self-starter with ability to maintain task ownership.
