Throughout the program, I have enjoyed working with different people who have all been extremely informative and willing to help throughout my entire internship. I learned about take-offs, putting together a detailed project budget, and how to explain budget changes.
My favorite part about my internship experience is the everchanging environment. I’ve learned the importance of collaboration and communication with different team members, including trade partners. Being able to see the sequence of construction has given me knowledge that I haven’t been able to gain in a classroom setting.
My favorite part of the internship was getting to be on-site and seeing the project come to life. I’ve enjoyed that each day has been different and there is always something challenging taking place.
During my summer internship with Harkins, I learned a lot about construction from working with my team on-site. It’s been fun and rewarding to interact with the various trade partners as well.
As a returning summer intern, I have continued to enjoy the connections I have made along the way. From my project team, to trade partners, it has given me a new perspective on the construction industry at large.
This internship advanced my construction industry experience by allowing me to take my classroom lessons and apply them to the real-world. My Harkins site team was very instructive and supportive, and they awarded me responsibilities that further developed my skills and knowledge.
