internships

Our internship program provides endless opportunity for students to apply what they learn in the classroom into the office or the field. Interns are fully immersed into the Harkins team through collaborative, hands-on experiences and have access to all employee resources, including training classes, certification courses, community service, and company events. Each intern is paired with a mentor to help guide the development of technical and professional skills and how to leverage these capabilities throughout their experience at Harkins and beyond.

Harkins’ summer internship program is focused on college students pursuing a degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.

Our winter internship program requires no experience in construction or related higher education. It provides individuals the opportunity to learn more about the industry and intricacies of field operations.

My favorite part about my internship experience is the everchanging environment. I’ve learned the importance of collaboration and communication with different team members, including trade partners. Being able to see the sequence of construction has given me knowledge that I haven’t been able to gain in a classroom setting.

This internship advanced my construction industry experience by allowing me to take my classroom lessons and apply them to the real-world. My Harkins site team was very instructive and supportive, and they awarded me responsibilities that further developed my skills and knowledge.
