Training Coordinator

Columbia, MD
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Assist with the creation, implementation and administration of training programs and systems.
  • Support Employee Development Manager with Harkins new hire mentoring program and with communication to employees of Harkins’ training programs, classes, and opportunities.
  • Serve as an additional point of contact for employee development.
  • Maintain employee training records and certifications and follow-up with employees who need certifications to maintain compliance.
  • Scheduling, room set-up, and arranging for catering of all in-person and virtual class sessions, including attendance and recording of sessions for future use.
  • Assist employees with locating and registering for outside courses.
  • Arrange for outsourcing of employee training as needed.
  • Attend new hire orientations and provide onboarding assistance to all new hires.
  • Ensure compliance of all training activities with established policies and best practices.
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally with executives, internal departments, corporate staff, site teams, and partners.
  • Attend required corporate meetings, training programs, and seminars/webinars.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to serve as a point of contact for employees.
  • Enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Adequate knowledge of databases and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HRIS is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to drive issues to completion.
  • Self-starter, strong work ethic, and a team player.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, corporate administrative departments, and project team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
