Regional Business Development Manager

Richmond, VA
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  •  Develop and track new clients.
  • Set-up strategy to take a lead or opportunity, execute, and schedule an interview with executive(s).
  • Work closely with Marketing team to create marketing material.
  • Develop client and architect/engineer database
  • Attend outside association functions to maintain business relationship and generate leads.
  • Maintain contact with existing and new architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Track research lead generators such as Reed, Business Journals, Mid-Atlantic Exchange, etc.
  • Track potential projects in the planning stages.
  • Attend project meetings with the preconstruction team.
  • Attend required corporate meetings, training programs, and Harkins University seminars/webinars.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Develop and track new clients in Richmond, Central Virginia, Tidewater and surrounding regions, pursuing new business development leads for future projects.
  • Prepare promotional packages and introduction letters and assist in developing other marketing and proposal packages.
  • Thorough understanding of the Company’s preconstruction and construction process, particularly negotiated projects.
  • Network regularly with existing clients and new clients at various associations within the community.
  • Maintain an ongoing relationship with clients and the pre-construction teams.
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, executives, and corporate staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, or technical field.
  • Minimum of five to eight (5-8) years of experience in construction or related (architecture/engineering) business development fields with a proven track record of successfully winning work.
  • Excellent understanding of preconstruction and construction operations.
  • Understanding of the real estate development business for the perspective of the developer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Thrives in a networking environment and confident to take on a challenge.
  • Assertive, self-starter, with a positive take-charge attitude.
  • Ability to accept rejection and quickly rise to the next opportunity.
  • Closing mentality from lead to project.
  • Creative and a green light thinker.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software applications and client relationship management software (Dynamics).
  • Extremely professional and confidential.

COMPENSATION
  • Base salary range:  $90,000-$100,000
