Stone Grove Crossing

Formerly Booth Street Apartments Phase I, Stone Grove Crossing was a comprehensive redevelopment by Pennrose Properties and Wicomico County Housing Authority (WCHA) of the Booth Street Townhouses, a 100-unit public housing community constructed in the 1960s. Harkins delivered 84 modern apartments to our clients for occupancy by former Booth Street residents and other workforce families and individuals.

Phase I focused on the western half of the complex and included the demolition of the buildings, which housed 50 apartments. Nine three-story buildings were built, holding 84 new apartments, and the community center was renovated. The unit make-up consists of 22 one-bedroom units, 46 two-bedroom units, and 16 three-bedroom units. During the construction process, tenants were placed in temporary housing both on and off site.

The new units are affordable to households earning no more than 60 percent of the area median income and will remain affordable for 30 years. Fifty units are replacement units for public housing and will be supported by Section 8 rental assistance under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developmentā€™s Rental Assistance Demonstration program (RAD).
