St. Vincent’s Center is a residential, therapeutic group facility serving children ages twelve and under that have serious behavioral, psychiatric, or emotional problems. Before renovations the facility included five cottages housing 13 students each, an administration building, a nursing center, connecting corridors, and a tunnel system housing the facility’s mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
Phase I began with site work and utilities and the relocation of the existing loop road to make room for two new buildings. The first new building was a 16,650 sq. ft. structure housing 26 children, including dining room, play room, living rooms, rest rooms, and staff facilities. Also included in Phase I were major improvements to the existing mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
Phase II included extensive renovations to the existing five residential cottages. Phases III and IV included renovations to the administration building and the construction of a new 15,300 sq. ft. multipurpose building with gymnasium, art room, and a chapel. Mechanical and electrical work continued through all phases.
