Millworks Business Resource Center

The Millworks Business Resource Center is an incubator space in Historic Ellicott City, MD. On July 30th, 2016, a flash flood ravaged Main Street, causing damage to 35 shops and restaurants. As main street rebuilds, The Howard County Economic Development Authority leased 8098 Main Street, which is a 3,000 sf building with a storefront that will be used to support the residents and business community. The presence of this Center is another commitment of Howard County’s resolve to continue working with the community and rebuilding Ellicott City as a model resilient community. or its leadership on this effort and to the partner organizations participating, which include the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Small Business Development Center, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, Preservation Maryland, the One EC Recovery Project, and the Ellicott City Partnership.

On this project, Harkins offered to provide support and construction services for along with The Verve Partnership, who provided design services pro bono. In addition, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Small Business Development Center, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, Preservation Maryland, the One EC Recovery Project, and the Ellicott City Partnership are partner organizations that participated in this effort.
