Burwood Gardens (Heritage Crest) Phase 1

A partnership project between Pennrose Properties and the Housing Commission of Anne Arundel County, Heritage Crest is the redevelopment of Burwood Gardens, a garden apartment complex built in 1974 to help house the county’s growing elderly population. Under this first of two phases, four existing 38-year-old apartment buildings were torn down and replaced with a four-story, 100-unit wood frame independent senior building. It includes such amenity spaces as a salon, fitness center, computer rooms, and a library. Each unit has a balcony. The exterior is clad with brick and cementitious siding, and the site includes a new memorial garden with a plaque to honor veterans of foreign wars.
