Harkins completely gutted this historic Baltimore structure and converted the space into 36 loft-style apartments. Although the project spent almost four years in the conceptual stages, Harkins was able to work closely with both the owner and the architect to keep the project within budget and on time. The historically significant façade was cleaned and repaired in an effort to return the building to its turn-of-the-century appearance.
The work began in early January and was completed in October as scheduled. The site management team worked hard to provide a high level of finish for these truly unique apartments, which were quickly absorbed into the downtown rental market. Dating from 1877, this historic building originally served as the home of the YMCA.
