Construction Starts on 70 Affordable Housing Apartments at Metro Heights
The Harkins team celebrated the groundbreaking of Metro Heights at Mondawmin, Wednesday, July 26th in Baltimore, MD.
When completed, Metro Heights at Mondawmin will be a four-story wood frame building over a one-level cast-in-place parking garage. It will offer 70 affordable apartments comprised of a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. The building will be built to LEED Silver standards, and will include features that promote energy efficiency and sustainability, such as Energy Star windows and appliances, high-efficiency heating and ventilation systems, water-conserving plumbing, and stormwater management.
Amenities will include in-unit washers and dryers, a club room on the top floor, a game room, a business center, and a fitness room and yoga studio.
Metro Heights will be situated within walking distance to the Mondawmin Mall along with the new Parks and People Foundation campus and Druid Hill Park.
The project is being developed by Enterprise Homes, and was designed by Marks Thomas. Construction is projected to take 14 months.
